Accidental Landscapes

A digital painting series exploring the hidden forms, textures, and accidental beauty found in everyday rubbish. Inspired by piles of trash seen across urban and natural environments, this project investigates the tension between visual composition and ecological collapse.
Each piece reinterprets discarded waste not as detritus, but as an involuntary reflection of our culture, its patterns, excess, and neglect. While the works are aesthetically composed and at times even visually pleasing, the subject matter remains confronting. It asks: What are we choosing to ignore? What space does waste occupy in both our environment and our psyche?
The series merges my painterly approach to form and light with themes of environmental responsibility, creating a dialogue between beauty and discomfort.

Observing Cambridge

A series of plein air watercolours, ink drawings, and sketchbook studies capturing the architecture, riverbanks, gardens, and everyday scenes of Cambridge.

Created over several seasons, these works reflect a personal and observational practice rooted in my background in fine art. This series is not only an artistic response to the city’s light, rhythm, and atmosphere, but also a meditative process of connecting with my environment.
Traditional materials such as pen, ink, and watercolour were used on location or from memory, with a focus on simplicity, spontaneity, and mood. These studies also inform my broader visual storytelling and help me stay grounded in the tactile, material side of art-making.

Stage & Shadow

Ink and Watercolor Studies of Drama and Spectacle

This series explores the performative tension of the stage, where light, gesture, and collective gaze converge. Created with ink and watercolour, each painting captures the fleeting intensity of dramatic scenes: figures caught mid-speech, surrounded by silence, or an unseen audience.
Inspired by theatre, myth, and memory, Stage & Shadow focuses on the emotional architecture of performance — how power, vulnerability, and presence unfold within a confined frame. The interplay between spotlight and void becomes a visual metaphor for the storytelling instinct itself.

Studies of Stillness

Figures in Traditional and Digital Media

A meditative exploration of the human form, Studies of Stillness is a series of figure drawings and paintings capturing moments of quiet introspection, vulnerability, and solitude.
Working across mediums — from ink and oil to digital paint — I focused on the subtle language of posture, the tension of stillness, and the intimacy of light on skin. These works are less about likeness and more about presence: a body in space, a moment held in time.
This ongoing series is both a technical study and a personal reflection, where visual storytelling emerges from silence.

Tomorrow

Art Director – Visual Development & Storytelling

A haunting and poetic short animation, Tomorrow explores themes of memory, loss, and human resilience through a visually rich, painterly style. As Art Director, I led the visual storytelling — crafting the film’s atmosphere, environments, and emotional rhythm through color, light, and composition. My work shaped the artistic vision from early concept to final frame, blending symbolic imagery with expressive design to support the narrative’s emotional depth. Tomorrow received wide international recognition, winning Best Animation at the 27th Brooklyn Film Festival (2024) and Best Animated Short at Foyle Film Festival (2023), and was featured in over a dozen festivals including Cannes Short Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival, and Seoul Indie-AniFest. It reached over 6.8 million views on Omeleto’s YouTube channel, connecting with a global audience through its visual language and storytelling.

Sharab-e Chashman

Illustrator – Visual Storytelling & Symbolic Interpretation

Sharab-e Cheshman is a lyrical and emotionally charged music video for renowned Iranian artist Mohsen Namjoo. Through poetic lyrics rich with Sufi imagery, longing, and inner turbulence, the song invites a deeply symbolic visual response — one rooted in cultural memory and metaphor.
As the illustrator, I created a visual language that weaves together surreal symbolism and expressive composition to mirror the emotional arc of the song. The animation blends abstract gestures with traditional motifs, using form and movement to express grief, ecstasy, and spiritual yearning. The result is a dreamlike narrative where the personal and universal collide.
The video premiered on BBC Persian and has reached over 94K views on YouTube, resonating with audiences for its layered artistry and interpretive richness.

Sofalgar

Illustrator – Cultural Storytelling & Visual Heritage Revival

Sofalgar is a board game developed in collaboration with the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon) in Iran. Inspired by Iran’s ancient ceramic traditions, Sofalgar invites players on a journey through Persian history and craftsmanship, encouraging appreciation for the art of pottery across millennia.
As the lead illustrator, I was responsible for crafting the game’s entire visual identity — from the board and box cover to a richly illustrated booklet showcasing museum-held masterpieces of Persian pottery. My goal was to bridge contemporary illustration with traditional aesthetics, using color, texture, and form to reflect the spirit of Iranian artistic heritage.
The project became a deeply personal tribute to cultural memory — a way of bringing ancient art to life through modern design and storytelling. Each element was researched and hand-painted with reverence for the past and hope for future generations to engage with their visual roots.

Rakab

Illustrator – Turning a Classic Game into a Persian-Inspired Visual Experience

Rakab reimagines the classic strategy card game Condottiere through a distinctly Persian lens. While the gameplay remains rooted in European mechanics, the visual world is transformed — drawing inspiration from the intricate dress and cultural aesthetics of Iranian nomadic tribes, particularly those from Lorestan.

The Revenant Society

Narrative Board Game, Illustrated for Van Ryder Games

A richly atmospheric board game rooted in themes of séance, mystery, and the supernatural. As the illustrator, I was responsible for the complete visual development of the game. My goal was to balance tension and elegance, crafting a world where the artwork deepens immersion and narrative meaning. The Revenant Society was successfully funded three times over on Kickstarter, a testament to its captivating aesthetic and strong community response.
